What is a good faith estimate for services?

Under the No Surprises Act effective January 1, 2022, We are required to give a Good Faith Estimate for Health Care Services. You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.

How often will I see you?

Clients are typically seen once per week or every other week. A discussion will be had at the initial session and it will be determined as a team what makes sense for your goals, where you are at in your healing, and how you best process.

Intensive sessions are usually scheduled less often, but are longer (up to 4 hours). If you are interested in this format, we can discuss it in our early sessions to determine if this is the best way to proceed.

Do you see families, couples or children?

We do not see families, couples, adolescents or children for psychotherapy. We focus on helping adult individuals clean up their side of the street, so to speak.

We’d be happy to share some referrals with you for local family, couples or child therapists if needed.

How will I know if you’re the right therapist for me?

This a very important question. You are dedicating time and resources and want to be sure you are picking the right person. You should consider logistical factors (such as location and availability) as well as personal factors (Your provider’s training and expertise, personality, and ‘the feel’ you get). Don’t forget to think about financial factors, too.

An initial phone conversation should be able to answer some of these questions.

Sometimes you have to meet with someone before you truly have a feel for the person. The first couple of sessions can continue to inform your decision and we can talk about any ongoing reservations or concerns you might have.

How long will it take before I feel better?

Well, the answer is: it depends. We can’t tell you how long it will take for you to feel better. Overwhelmingly, people who put effort into healing outside of sessions get better faster than those who don’t.

We encourage everyone to do what helps them heal – that can range from mindfulness practice, spending time with trusted people, emotional support animals, yoga, listening to podcasts, reading books, setting healthy boundaries, seeing other complementary practitioners to name a few.

We realize we are not the end-all-be-all for everyone and there is so much information out there!

Do you offer Telehealth?

Yes. Secure video appointments are available for psychotherapy.

Neurofeedback

What are your session rates?

Initial Intake and Assessment, 50-55 min – $149
Follow-up Sessions, 30-45 min – $100

LENS Neurofeedback sessions done on-site with dogs or horses are at a higher rate due to travel and a second technician present. Contact us for availability and rates.

What days/hours do you schedule appointments?
Mondays and Tuesdays with Thursdays coming soon
How often will I see you?

Typically, people begin with once per week sessions. Effectiveness is not determined by frequency of the sessions, although, people will experience faster change if attended weekly than less often. Expect somewhere between 12-20 sessions on average.

Who do you use LENS Neurofeedback with?

All ages! We welcome babies, children, and adolescents as well as adults, and animals (horses and dogs at this time).

It is not uncommon for us to see many family members. It can be beneficial for children who are unsure of the procedure to see a family member receive LENS while they watch. Babies are usually held in the laps of their caregivers while receiving LENS.

Children experiencing attachment issues can significantly benefit from their caregivers getting LENS simultaneously.

How long will it take before I feel better?

From the very first LENS Neurofeedback session, your brain will start the reorganization process. Highly discerning people tend to notice changes while less discerning people may not notice changes. If you are less discerning, we work together to find alternative ways for you to know what is changing. Many times this is from things we can “see” such as changes in behaviors as opposed to changes in how you feel.

Depending on the length of time and severity of a being’s issues, the average number of sessions is about 6 for mild, more recent issues to over 20 sessions for more complex and longer held issues.

Do you offer Telehealth?

No, Telehealth appointments are not offered for Neurofeedback.
